Product Features
The Sherborn comes with our 2012 upgraded, supersized, engineered uprights (legs), giving it even better stability and strength. These engineered cedar uprights are now 8cm x 8cm and have been developed to give much less cracking, checking and twisting than in standard pine or spruce larger dimensional lumber. Our new uprights are soft to the touch, very strong and free from splinters, sharp edges and deep cracks that could harm small hands. The Selwood Products brand is synonymous with safety, fun and family.
The Sherborn climbing frame is a swing set with a huge range of features. It comes with plenty to keep your children occupied as well as a café style area for them to rest in between sliding, swinging and climbing. There is also the hugely popular trapeze bar for all those acrobats in training. The trapeze bar is great for building up strength as well as improving co-ordination, and not to mention imagination.
With its yellow and green, UV-resistant tarp roof, your little ones can play what ever the weather. Beneath the 120cm high play deck is a partially enclosed canvas lower playhouse. This is the perfect place for them to relax and catch their breath. Or they could indulge in some make believe and play shops or restaurants. The two café style seats are superb little extras that give this frame yet another handy function.
The play deck is 119cm by 90cm and can be accessed by the slatted rockwall. This has professional style climbing rocks as well as clever gaps between each slat to enable younger children to climb the ladder with ease. Once they have reached the deck, your little climbers will find a vinyl chalk board in prime position for sketching the view. The Sherborn climbing frame has a 220cm straight slide which has a wave in the middle for an even more exciting ride.
The frame also has two belt swings, which grip the hips and keep little ones from slipping off, and a trapeze bar which are all attached to the innovative monkey bar/swing combo beam. This is a fantastic space saver which gives you a wide range of features without causing you to compromise on the space the frame takes up. The trapeze bar is a firm favourite with active children who love to monkey around. To use the monkey bars simply unclip the swings and trapeze bar in minutes.
Manufactured from high quality cedar wood and pre stained with an attractive redwood stain, the wood is pre-cut and pre-drilled which helps make home-build as easy as possible. There is also an illustrated owner’s manual showing you exactly how to build the set. All you need is basic DIY tools.
The Sherborn is designed for children aged between 3 and 10 years of age and is tested (EN-71 & ASTM) to meet requirements for private residential use – this set is not suitable for commercial use.

1.2m (4ft) High Deck
The 1.22m (4ft) play deck height refers to the distance from the ground to the floor of the deck. A higher deck height means a longer rock wall and a longer slide.
Which deck height is most suitable for my children?
We suggest that the taller your children are the higher your deck should be and it is also important to remember that the higher the deck the more use your children will get out of the climbing frame as they get older.
The 4ft deck is our most popular deck height as it is a fantastic compromise between being a sensible height for smaller or younger children and still high enough to keep older children amused.
Straight Slide
Straight slide with an added wave for a thrilling descent! Our sides have extra high rails at the top of slide to help children get onto the slide and help prevent any falls. The bottom of the slide is flatter, to help children end with their feet (and not their bottoms) on the ground. No more bumps and bruises and no more grass stains! The slides are made of durable, green plastic - a perfect colour choice during the summer as it won't attract the bugs! We have also reinforced the rear of our slides to make them extra strong and to easily stand up to children running the wrong way up them!
Swings
Swings have been around forever and everyone remembers enjoying a swing whilst chatting with friends, or competing to see who could swing the highest, whether it be playing at the park, or a swing from the tree at home, we all seem to have fond memories.
Our range of swings and wooden swing sets mean that it is possible for your kids to have these memories too, plus loads of other from using their slide, climbing their rock wall or waving at mum and dad from their cubby fort.
Our flexible belt swing seats grip each child's hips and provide a comfortable and supportive seat for your child as they swing. This ensure that they don't 'slide' around on the seat as you can find with some cheap moulded plastic seats. Our belt swings or sometimes called sling seats and can be the safest easiest way for children to learn how to swing with confidence.
Our swings are also designed to clip on and clip off from our swing set swing beam should you wish to swap them with either a baby bucket or a trapeze swing. We also offer our 2-child back-to-back glider swing on some sets, or as an upgrade from our swing accessories range.

Rockwall Ladder
This slatted rock wall ladder offers the best of both worlds for little climbers. For those who are feeling a little more adventurous, the moulded plastic climbing rocks are a natural choice for a daring climb. For those with a little less confidence, then the spaces between the ladder slats will provide an easier ascent to the top! The spaces between the slats are also easy to climb down - ideal if the queue for the slide is too long! Our rock wall ladders are a combination to ensure that all ages of children can enjoy them and maximise their use of the playset
Monkey Bars
Monkey bar ladders are a great addition to a climbing frame and offer the perfect excuse for kids to monkey around while building their core strength and improving their motor skills. Our monkey bar climbers come in two varieties, the stand alone monkey bar, or the combination monkey bar ladder and swings. Both have a ladder at the end, and easy grip rungs long the horizontal monkey climber. The monkey bars are normally about 1.8m (6ft) from the ground, but this will vary depending on the playset model and will be detailed in the product description.
Vinyl Roof
Climbing Frames Australia range of playsets and climbing frames come with either a durable, water-resistant and UV-resistant tarp roof or a fully wooden roof. The tarp's are usually found on smaller, cheaper playsets and provide protection through the summer months from the sun so the kids can enjoy the warm weather without running the risk of getting burnt. The tarp is also water-resistant so the kids can take cover during scattered showers!
Café Counter
The café counter is an open serving counter situated underneath the play deck.

It was important to us that we considered those with smaller gardens and because of that we have a range of climbing frames which are ideal for smaller spaces. They are more compact in size yet still have plenty of features to keep the little monsters fully entertained.

However, we do advise that you carefully consider the size of the garden you plan to put the climbing frame in before making your final decision.
