The Althorp comes with our 2012 upgraded, supersized, engineered uprights (legs), giving the climbing frame even greater stability, strength and a stunning aesthetic. These engineered cedar uprights are now 8cm x 8cm and have been developed to give a lot less cracking, twisting and checking than in standard pine or spruce larger dimensional lumber. Our new uprights are soft to the touch, super-strong and are free from splinters, sharp edges or deep cracks that could harm your children’s hands. The Selwood Products brand is synonymous with safety, fun and family. The Althorp Climbing Frame is part of the Selwood Products Infinity Series.
The Althorp frame is a fantastic swing set which will bring your children so much joy and fun. The play deck is 150cm from the ground and is completely enclosed to give a real ‘fort’ feel. It is jam-packed full of little details like the flower box and café style opening complete with awning.
Please note the Althorp frame does NOT come with a lower playhouse package.
The solid rock wall to the front of the frame will challenge older children whilst the ladder at the back of the frame will allow younger members of the family to get up to the spacious play deck easily – both lead to the open balcony at the side of the enclosed upper playhouse. The solid rock wall has multi-coloured professional style climbing rocks and wavy detailing at the edges. The upper playhouse measures 220cm by 110cm and has 3 windows at the back and 3 at the front, giving children a superb view of the garden. It is covered by an attractive wooden roof, which will shade your little adventurers from the sun and shelter them from the rain. Below the play deck is a play area with a serving hatch and 2 café stools.
The Althorp climbing frame boasts a green, tubular, spiral slide which promises a super speedy and super fun ride. This frame features our exciting new space saving monkey bar/swing combo beam complete with 2 belt swings and a trapeze bar. Our belt swings are firm favourites amongst past customers and the trapeze bar offers hours of fun.
The Althorp playset is manufactured from cedar wood and pre-stained with an attractive redwood stain. The wood is also pre-cut and pre-drilled which helps make home-build as easy as possible. We also supply an illustrated owner’s manual showing you exactly how to build the set. All you’ll need is basic DIY tools.
This climbing frame is designed for children aged between 3 and 10 years of age and is tested (EN-71 & ASTM) to meet requirements for private residential use – this set is not suitable for commercial use.
The Althorp includes the following product features;
1.5m (5ft) High Deck
The 1.52m (5ft) play deck height refers to the distance from the ground to the floor of the deck. A higher deck height means a longer rock wall and a longer slide.
Which deck height is most suitable for my children?
The higher the height of the deck the more challenging and adventurous the climbing frame becomes. The climb up to the deck is higher and the slide down is longer. The higher deck means that as your children grow they will still be able to get enjoyment from their frame even as they get much older.
One great benefit of purchasing a climbing frame with a 1.5m (5ft) deck height is that the deck size also increases as the deck gets higher. This means the playsets are able to cater to several siblings and their friends without any problem at all and as the older ones can still play on it they are kept busy and active too.
Tube Slide
Climbing Frames Australia has the best selection of slides available and nothing comes better than our exclusive enclosed tube slide. This is the crème de la crème of slides, measuring 12ft (3.65m) long this amazing slide takes up minimal space in your garden but offers an amazing ride for your children! It spirals once in the middle and is flat at the bottom so children end with their feet (and not their bottoms!) on the ground.
Swings
Swings have been around forever and everyone remembers enjoying a swing whilst chatting with friends, or competing to see who could swing the highest, whether it be playing at the park, or a swing from the tree at home, we all seem to have fond memories.
Our range of swings and wooden swing sets mean that it is possible for your kids to have these memories too, plus loads of other from using their slide, climbing their rock wall or waving at mum and dad from their cubby fort.
Our flexible belt swing seats grip each child's hips and provide a comfortable and supportive seat for your child as they swing. This ensure that they don't 'slide' around on the seat as you can find with some cheap moulded plastic seats. Our belt swings or sometimes called sling seats and can be the safest easiest way for children to learn how to swing with confidence.
Our swings are also designed to clip on and clip off from our swing set swing beam should you wish to swap them with either a baby bucket or a trapeze swing. We also offer our 2-child back-to-back glider swing on some sets, or as an upgrade from our swing accessories range.

Our swingsets often include two belt swings, and then either a trapeze swing, or a glider swing. Trapeze Bar

These swing sets all include trapeze bars that are made of the highest quality metal, plastic and rope and are guaranteed to last long after your children grows out of the swing set!
Monkey Bars
Monkey bar ladders are a great addition to a climbing frame and offer the perfect excuse for kids to monkey around while building their core strength and improving their motor skills. Our monkey bar climbers come in two varieties, the stand alone monkey bar, or the combination monkey bar ladder and swings. Both have a ladder at the end, and easy grip rungs long the horizontal monkey climber. The monkey bars are normally about 1.8m (6ft) from the ground, but this will vary depending on the playset model and will be detailed in the product description.
Ladder
Ladders provide a safe and easy entry into a climbing frame utilizing easy grip rungs or flat steps to allow children to safely get up onto the playset deck to access the additional features such as cabin windows, chalk wall or slide entrance. Step ladders also enable safe exit from a treehouse fort.
Solid Rockwall
The solid rock wall features multi-coloured climbing rocks and wavy detailing at the edges. This climbing rock wall is great for older children who are up for a challenge! Not only it is fun to use but also has physical benefits such as improving children’s motor skills, hand-eye coordination and upper and lower body strength.
Wooden Roof
Climbing frames with fully wooden rooves look amazing in your garden and provide you with a strong sturdy playset that will protect your children from sunshine or rain.
Our playsets come with either a vinyl tarp roof, or a fully wooden roof.
Café Counter
The café counter is an open serving counter situated underneath the play deck.
